Laid back and comfortable atmosphere. The totchos are great and what you would expect. The bar has a pretty good variety. The tequila fishbowl(blue) is great! The staff are always accommodating and there’s a quick turn around if they’re packed. Valet is available but limited and is never more than what you would tip. Street parking is also possible and can be found usually within a 2 block radius unless there is a major event at Piedmont Park. It’s fun and a great place for casual outings.
I have gone here once before and really enjoyed my food. However, after returning for a second time I was extremely disappointed. If I could give it a zero I would. Our wait for the food was easily an hour long, and when it arrived we did not have silverware. The waitress did not return with the silverware for at least 30 minutes, meanwhile we are sitting at the table hungry and staring at the food (while it is getting cold). It gets better...The very first bite I took, there was a giant hair in my food. They took my plate and gave me a new one for free, however I had to wait another hour for this plate as well! Given that I found a hair, this should have been made and out to me a lot faster!! The final plate that I got was lukewarm and gross quite frankly and was not worth the close to 2 hours that I waited for it.
I have not been to The Nook in several years but returned this week for dinner. The food was good and similar to what I remember from past visits. We started out with a fried calamari appetizer which was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly tender. I also had the Southern Comfort burger which was stuffed with tabasco mac and cheese with BBQ sauce and it was surprisingly good. My friend had the Ahi salad which was very fresh and tasty. The place is very casual, prices reasonable, attentive service and the outdoor patio inviting. I will return again soon.
Family owned gastropub. Hamburger s to die for and the tater tots are a one of a kind meal,. Just choose your favorite toppings. If your in the Piedmont Park area you must give it a try.
The location is easy to access. Valet parking available. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. Our service was quick in fast. I ordered the black bean burger which was supposed to be the best, but as expected it was too mushy. I'm big on texture and it tasted like mash potatoes on a bun. Needs more onions and/or pickles for a solid crunch. I got a Carribean mule which was quite tasty. I recommend going and opting out of the black bean burger.
